Most local moves in the Coachella Valley are priced by the hour for the crew and truck. Here's what a move actually costs in 2026, based on our own rates and the jobs we do every week around Indio.
Hourly rates
Local movers in the valley charge roughly $120 to $150 an hour for 2 movers and a truck, usually with a 2-hour minimum. Our rate is $125 an hour for 2 movers and $165 an hour for 3 movers, with a 2-hour minimum and no gas or travel fee anywhere inside the valley.

What makes a move cost more
- Stairs and elevators: every flight at pickup or drop-off adds time.
- Long walks: gated communities and big apartment complexes can mean a long carry from the door to the truck.
- Packing on move day: boxes that aren't packed and taped before we arrive slow everything down.
- Heavy or awkward items: gun safes, pianos, treadmills and glass tabletops take extra care.
- Distance: a move from Indio to Palm Springs or Desert Hot Springs takes longer than one across town.
How to keep your move cheap
- Pack and label everything before the crew arrives.
- Take apart beds and empty dressers ahead of time, or tell us so we can plan for it.
- Reserve the elevator or loading area and send gate codes in advance.
- Get rid of what you don't want first. A junk pickup the same day costs less than moving it.
- Book an early start in summer. Crews move faster before the heat peaks.
