Moving Policy

Last updated: November 7, 2026. Plain-language answers to how our jobs work. Your written estimate and any signed paperwork for your job take priority over this summary.

Estimates

  • Online prices are estimates. We give you a written estimate before your job, as California rules require.
  • If the job changes (more items, extra stops, stairs or long carries we didn't know about), we'll explain the change and update the estimate in writing before doing the extra work.

How time is charged

  • Hourly jobs have a 2-hour minimum.
  • Time starts when the crew arrives and ends when the last item is placed. After the minimum, time is billed in 15-minute increments.
  • There are no gas or travel fees for jobs within the Coachella Valley.
  • Packing supplies, if used, are billed at cost.

Booking, rescheduling and cancellations

  • We may ask for a small deposit for large or peak-season jobs. We'll always tell you upfront.
  • Reschedule or cancel free with at least 24 hours' notice.
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or if the crew arrives and the job can't be done, may be charged up to one hour of labor.

Payment

Payment is due when the job is complete. We accept major credit and debit cards and cash, and other methods by arrangement.

Protection for your belongings

  • We pad, wrap and strap every load.
  • Basic protection is included at no extra cost, as set by California rules: our liability is limited to 60 cents per pound per article. Ask us before your move if you'd like to discuss additional coverage options.
  • Please keep cash, jewelry, medications, important documents and irreplaceable items with you.

Damage and claims

  • Please check your items when we finish and note any damage before the crew leaves.
  • Send any claim in writing (text or email with photos) as soon as possible. We'll respond quickly and work to make it right.

Items we can't move or haul

  • Hazardous materials: gasoline, propane tanks, paint, chemicals, ammunition and fireworks.
  • Perishable food, pets and live plants on long or hot days.
  • Junk removal: we can't take hazardous waste. Tires, mattresses and some appliances may carry disposal fees, which we'll tell you about upfront.

Your part

  • Reserve elevators, loading areas and HOA or gate access ahead of time.
  • Have someone 18+ at pickup and drop-off.
  • Tell us about heavy or unusual items (pianos, safes, gym equipment) when you book.
