Moving into a gated community or HOA: what to know
A big share of homes in La Quinta, Indio, Palm Desert and Indian Wells sit inside gated communities with their own move rules. Knowing them ahead of time is the difference between a smooth move and a crew waiting at the gate on your clock.
Ask the HOA these questions first
- What days and hours are moves allowed?
- Do movers need to be added to a gate list, or is there a code?
- Where can a box truck park, and for how long?
- Do you need to reserve an elevator, loading dock or padding for common areas?
- Is a deposit or certificate of insurance required from the moving company?
Send us the details before move day
Text us the gate code or list name, the parking spot and any time limits. We plan the start time around the move window so you're not paying for a crew to wait.
Protecting common areas
We pad doorways and wrap furniture so walls, elevators and hallways stay clean. If your building requires specific protection, tell us and we'll bring it.
Apartments and condos
Stairs and long walks to the parking lot are common in apartment complexes. Mention them in your quote so the estimate includes the extra time and there are no surprises.
